From a young age, I found joy in painting, which I believe later led me to pursue a career in design and photography. Even though I did my higher studies in IT, my passion for creativity never waned.

Starting at a small firm, I've had the privilege of working with various brands, for the last 15 years from startups to renowned brands like HSBC. My experience in brand strategy and diverse print and digital projects has enriched my journey. Product photography, especially for jewellery brands, has been a particularly exciting area, requiring meticulous attention to detail.

Beyond work, I am deeply passionate about art, illustrations, crafts, music, literature and various other goners of photography, which continually inspire my creativity. I'm dedicated to staying updated with the latest trends and skills in this dynamic field.

About me

DONA NIRASHA KANNANGARA

CREATIVE DESIGNER | PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHER

Art

When it comes to art, it's the primary medium through which I express myself. My preferred mediums are watercolor and ink pens. Most of my watercolor work consists of landscape paintings. Over the years, I've developed a deep appreciation for the versatility of ink as a medium and enjoy experimenting with various techniques, including stippling and hatching. I also have a great admiration for illustrations and aspire to explore this area further in the future.

Photography

In addition to commercial photography, I have a keen eye for capturing diverse subjects like portraits, close-up macros, wildlife, and expansive landscapes. I particularly enjoy showcasing my work in monochrome as it simplifies narratives and allows for compelling storytelling through my photographs. I believe that monochrome enhances the emotional impact of my images, drawing viewers into the essence of the subject.
